LCSO INCIDENT REPORT SUMMARY
Compiled from a summary of incident reports
completed by Lamar deputies during the period Dec.
1-7, 2021.
On Dec. 1, Dep. Anthony Redding met with a
Crawford Road woman about an identity theft case.
The victim reported people named Jeremiah and Kim
opened a Verizon account using her data and ran up a
$1000 bill.
On Dec. 2, Dep. Redding was patrolling Ga. Hwy.
7 northbound when he spotted a small, gray pickup
truck with no tag and pulled it over. The driver,
61-year-old Jere H. Horne, said his kids had been play
ing with the tag. Horne handed over his license and a
check revealed he was wanted on a probation warrant
from Monroe County.
Horne then fled the scene on the Hwy. 36 bypass,
ran a stop sign and passed several vehicles in a dan
gerous fashion. Horne slammed on his brakes several
times in an attempt to get Redding to hit his car and
backed into the patrol car when he failed.
Redding attempted to pit the truck near Chappell
Mill Road but failed. The chase continued in Butts
County where a Butts deputy finally pitted the truck,
ending the chase.
Horne went to jail charged with aggravated assault
against a peace officer, no tag, failure to maintain
lane, reckless driving, failure to yield, passing in a no
passing zone, super speeder violation, fleeing and
attempting to elude, interference with government
property, possession of meth, obstruction, posses
sion of drug related objects and failure to stop at a
stop sign.
On Dec. 2, Dep. Coleman Conner met with a man at
his home on City Pond Road. The man had a new roof
installed around Thanksgiving and paid in advance.
The job was poorly done and he contacted the roofer.
The owner there cursed the homeowner and threat
ened to come take the roof off his house.
On Dec. 3, at about 2:30 a.m., Sgt. Bossie Davis
met with a man and woman who heard a bang in their
Trice Road mobile home and then found a white male
in jeans and a hoodie inside. The man fled but later
returned, saying he was looking for his girlfriend
