quest held at Tabor, N. C., Just over
the state line, on the body of Robert
M. Floyd, a student, Mrs. S. M.
Hayes, admitted without a tremor
that she wan the slayer.
“He made an improper proposal to
me and laid bands on me," she said,
“and reaching under the pillow I
l ulled out a Colt’s automatic and shot
film seven times. We fell together
t(r the floor, when I got up, secured
a pistol and shot him twice more."
Floyd's body from the waist to the
forehead was honeycombed * with
wounds.
Mrs. Hayes before her marriage
three yea-:s ago had been a sweet
heart of Floyfl, and a lelter was found
on his body from her asking him to
come to Tabor and treat some moles
which she had on her fare. Mrs.
Hayes, her husband, and (he latter a j

rested and Jailed. A preliminary '
hearing will he held Wednesday. j
