*Mr. H. M. Stanley Is A son of the
late Cept. IUdlln A. Stanley, who was
the flrst # solIcItor general of the Oco
nee Judicial Circuit, and who was Or-*
dlaary «of Laurensr county at the time
or his death.

past twelve years he has been editor
of the Courier-Dispatch, and was edl

Mr. Stanley hns been a number of

teenth Senatorial District several
years and served for several years
a member of the democratic execu
five committee of the Eleventh Con
grcssionnl District.
For a number of years Mr. Stanley
has taken a prominent part In the af
fairs of tho Georgia Weekly Pres*
Association and In 1907 was unani
mously elected president of the as
sociation. After serving for two
years ho declined re-election and has
since boen corresponding secretary.
Always taking a great deal of In
terest in educational mntter, Mr.
Stanley served for seven years as a
member of tho city board of educa
tion of Dublin and for threo years
was president ot the board. Some
years ago when the city council abol
ished the old board of ten and created
ne, Mr. Stanley and one othdr
member were the only ones retained.

Mr. Stanley has taken a groat deal
of Interest In secret fraternities and

to mako the race for Commissioner
of Commerce and Labor at tho call of
his fellow countrymen and will make
aggressivo campaign for the of
fice.
