The adjourned term of Jasper
Superior Court will be held one
week from next Monday. A good
deal of unfinished business remains
on the docket, and it is likely that
the session will last three or four
days. :
Mr. ]J. H. Kelly comes to the
front this week with a handsome
full page advertisement. Mr.
Kelly is offering a great reduction
in prices on his stock. The trading
public will find it to their interest
to trade with him. Read his ad
and give him a call.
Mr. E. B. Smith has leased his
farm near S mithboro and he and
Mrs. Smith will leave in a few
days for Marietta, their future
home. Mr, and Mrs. Smith have‘
been residents of the county for a
long number of years,' and their
numerous friends regret to have‘
them leave, .

lin, of Eudora, placed one hundred
and thirty-five bales of cotton on
the Monticello market last Friday.
It was bought by Mr. R. R, Powel
who paid 10} per pound for the
lot.
The next attraction at the K. P.
Hall will be the lecture of Hon.
Luther Manship to be given on the
evening of December the ninth,

mended and no doubt those who

of cotton on sale here last Friday.
We have been claiming all®the
time that Monticello is one of the
best cotton markets in the state
and as a proof of the fact farmers
from other sections are bringing
their cotton here to be disposed of. ’

The Saturday Afternoon Club

held with Miss Stella Benton,
Doyle Campbell, a recent gradu
ate of the University, is a candi
date for solicitor of the county
court in Jasper county. He has
many friends in this city who will
hope for his success in this race.
He is a brilliant young man and
would make a record for himself
as solicitor, 'The above compli
