“You people have got ns in a mess,”
said Alayor Gilbert to Judge Hershon
yesterday morning, “by stealing II.
G. Turner out o! our district.”
“I am afraid,” said Judge Mershon,
with a self-satisfied smile, “that we
have get into a mess, too: because we
will never get rid of him unless we
promote him. Ve are going to send
him to the Senate to fill Colquitt’s
place.”
And there a:
action would be a great injustice to

Did he treat Air. Stewart with the

Did Hr. Livingston, a “Democrat

Washington very arduous in behalf of
his people when he went voluntarily
to Cincinnati and St. Louis to attend
the meetings that resulted in the or-

Was the Democratic party in danger
when Mr. Livingston wa3 so promi

the Third party ?
If he is such a strong Democrat
why is it that he now claims attention
in Washington to Democratic duty
and at the same time shows a record
noting his absence to attend a Third

many people
in Georgia who look upon him as
Georgia’s next United States Senator.
Livingston has “run off” his

of the most brilliant young men
in the state. He took a high po

in the Senate will take an equally
exalted stand. He is one of the
coming young men of Georgia.—
