before now the remarkable specta
cle of a government out. of debt
and reducing taxes to cut down its
surplus revenues.
As Jong as the pension leak con
tinues at its present dimensions it
will be useless for Secretary Gage
or anybody else to formulate finan
cial policies with the i'dea of re
lieving the distress of the treasury.

surance commissioner says he un
derstands that one of the Eastern

salary of $100,000 a year, and he

companies, claiming the right to
pay what they please, have ignored
the Kansas commissioner’s ques

Georgia will this year vote for a
state school commissioner. Here

he will be elected along with the
state house officers.
