“Dear Mrs. PinEham When I wrote to you a few months
ago ! had been suffering from inflammation of the ovaries and
womb for over eighteen months. T had a continual pain and
soreness in my back and side. I believe my troubles were caused
by overwork and lifting sx>me years ago. Life was a drag to me
and I felt like giving up. I had several doctors, but they did me
little good. I began to use Lydia E. Pinfcham’s Vegetable Com-
£ ound four months ago and am in better health to-day than I
ave been for years. All my. pains are gone. _ Your vegetable
Compound has made me well. I recommend it to all suffering
women.’—Mrs. S. J. Watson, Hampton, Va.

Mr. Jno. A. Smith went to the bridge
site last Saturday for the.purpose of in
specting the foundation, which has
been there for perhaps sixty .years. By
an ingenious arrangement, boring into
the logs, under the water, by placing
an auger inside a pipe, the shavings
were brought up without getting them
wet. and the true condition of the logs
was ascertained. The shavings were
dry and hard, Showing that the logs
were sound and dry on the inside and
would stand for, no one knows, how
long. The first bridge was built across
the Chattahoochee river at this point
along about 1830, and this was burned
during the War. A short time after
ward another bridge was built there
and this stood and was operated as a
toll bridge until purchased by Hall and
