THE GEORGIA CRACKER, SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 21, 1901
The line of presidential succes
sion as fixpd by act of Congress in
1886 runs thus: Vice President,
Secretary of State, Secretary of
the Treasury, Secretary of War,
Attorney General, P o s t-
master General, Secretary of the
Navy and Secretary ot the Inte
rior. Of the present members of
the Cabinet only one is ineligible
to the presidency. * That one is
Secretary of Agriculture Jam es
born in Scot-
ihclination to return to work.
They are not satisfied with the
terme of the settlement, and many
of them refuee to accept them.
These terms have not been made
public, but it is the general im

for the strikers.

Monday, November 11, has been
fixed by the governor of Alabama
as the day for holding the election
for the ratification of the new con-
stitution. This places the date
nearly as far off as the law will
permit, which is a wise move, inas
much as it will give as much time
as possible for the people to study
the new constitution.
