Lobbyists Are Denounced.
Atlanta, Gra., r Nov. 4.—There
was a lively debate in the house
today for the first time. It was
over Perry’s (of Grwinetfc) bill to
create a board of tax assessors to
assess railroad property. Al
though the bill waa killed, the de
bate was stirring. Joe Hall, Sea
born Wright and others made
speeches for and Slhton, Garry
and Toomer against. Mr. Wright
jumped on lobbyists in strong
terms, saying no bill relating to
railroads could be introduced
without paid attorneys coming
to the capital and button-holing
members and requesting them to
vote for railroads. He said the
time had come to stop lobbying
and that it must stGp. .
