No Whiskey!
Brown’s Iron Bitters
is one of the very few tonic
medicines that are not com
posed mostly of alcohol or
whiskey, thus becoming a
fruitful source of intemper
ance by promoting a desire
for rum.
Brown’s Iron Bitters
is guaranteed to be a non
intoxicating stimulant, and
it will, in nearly every case,
take the place of all liquor,
and at the same time abso
lutely kill the desire for
whiskey and other intoxi
cating beverages.
Rev. G. W. Rice, editor of
the American Christian Re
view, says of Brown’s Iron
Bitters:
Cin.,o., Nov. 16,1R81.
Gents:—The foolish wist
ing of \ ital force in business,
pleasure, anti vicious indul
gence of our people, makes
your preparation a necessity;
and if applied, will save hun
dreds who resort to saloons
for temporary recuperation.
Brown’s Iron Bitters
has been thoroughly tested
for dyspepsia, indigestion,
biliousness, weakness, debil -
ity, overwork, rheumatism,
neuralgia, consumption,
liver complaints, kidney
troubles, &c., and it never
fails to render speedy and
permanent relief.
Know
That Brown’s Iron Bitters
will cure the worst case
of dyspepsia.
Will insure a hearty appetite
and increased digestion.
Cures general debility, and
gives a new lease of life.
Dispels nervous depression
and low spirits.

37 Walker S-, Baltimore, Dec. 1881.
For sir years 1 have been a great
sufferer from Blood Disease, Dys

so debilitated that l could not retain

life had almost become a burden.
Finally, when hope bad almost left

Iron Bitters advertised in the
paper, induced me to give it a trial

Brown’s Iron Bitters has done en

including the medical profession.
There are no mysteries or secrets
about the compounding of Brown’s
Iron Bitters. This preparation of
iron is the only preparation which
will not injure teeth or stomach. In
this it is beyond comparison better
than the other preparations, which
are mischievous and injurious.
You need not fear a mistake in

Yon Cannot Buy It In the

What an absurd idea it is to send
a sick man, with an ailing stomach,
a torpid liver, and impoverished
blood, to a bar-room to swallow
some stimulating stuff, and c»U it"
medicine!
An enormous amount of mischie.
is constantly done by men who
thus trifle with themselves. Instead
of healing their diseases,they make
them worse. Instead of gaining
tr.ngth, they only acquire the
isgraceful habit of tippling.
It is a point worth noting in con

that this valuable medi ine is not
sold in bar-rooms, and will not be.
It is not a drink. It is a remedy,
it is not made to tickle the palate
of old topers. It is made to heal
disease. It is not made to promote
the good-fellowship of a lot of bib

medicine, containing the only prepa
ration of iron which can safely and

Warren Leland,
whom everybody knows as tbe successful
manager of the
Largest Hotel Enterprises
of America, says that while a passenger from
New York on board a ship going around Capo
Horn, in the early days of emigration to Cal
ifornia, ho learned that one of the officers of
the vessel had cured himself, during the voy
age, of au obstinate disease by the use of
Ayers Sarsaparilla.
Since then Mr. Lelaxd has recommended
; AVer’s Sarsaparilla in many similar
i cases, and he has never yet heard of its fail
i ure to effect a radical cure.
Some years ago one of .Mr. Leland’s farm
i laborers bruised bis leg. Owing to the bad
state of his blood, an ugly scrofulous swelling
I or lump appeared on the injured limb. Hor
i rible itching of the skin, with burning and
darting pains through the lump, made life
almost intolerable. The leg became enor
mously enlarged, and running ulcers formed,
discharging great quantities of extremely
offensive matter. No treatment was of any
avail until the man, by Mr. Leland’s direc
tion, was supplied with Ayer’s Sarsapa
rilla, w hich allayed the pain and irritation,
healed the sores, removed the swelling, and
completely restored the limb to use.
\ Mr. Leland has personally used
Ayers Sarsaparilla
for Rheumatism, with entire success ; and,
after careful observation, declares that, in
his belief, there is no medicine in the world
equal to it for the cure of River Disorders,
Gout, the effects of high living, Salt
Rheum, Sores, Eruptions, and all the
various forms of blood diseases.
We have Mr. Leland’s permission to invite
all who may desire farther evidence in regard
to the extraordinary curative powers of
Ayer's Sarsaparilla to see him person

Mr. Leland’s extensive knowledge of the
