cle, Mr. R. B. Watson, returned
home Wednesday.
Mr. John I). Paalk ami family are
now residents of Oeilla. They oc ¬
cupy the pretty cottage corner Fourth
and Beech Streets,
Mr. Ira Paulk can go up bead on
prolific pear trees. On a pear limb
two inches long was produced fifteen

Mr. D. J. Henderson and Capt.
W. Lennon are giving their cholera-

Rev. J. II. Newbern, of the Lax
section, has three and a halt acres
of corn that yielded 900 bundles of
fodder, his cotton will raeke a bale
to two acres and his cane is five feet
high, No danger of hard times at
his house.
Mr. Tommy Purvis, who was
stricken with rbutpatism several
weeks ago, is still suffering slight-
ty, but is able to go about. Ills bro-
ther, Jimmy, who has been very
low with typho-malaria fever, is im-
proving, wc are glad to learn.
Mr. C. Eh Bruce left Tuesday
for a week’s visit to Dodge county,

Baptist church was to have closed
last night. The faithful pastor,
Rev. M. L. Lawson, conducted the
services without assistance till last
night, when Rev. Mr. Clark, of Col¬
quitt county filled the pulpit. There
have been several additions to the
church and. much good lias been ac¬
complished.

I Tuesday evening Miss Aural Hobbs,
Ocilla’s popular assistant p. m., had
j her left wrist severely scalded with
coffee. For six inches the flesh was
apparently blistered. A handful of
sheep’s wool was bound on the arm,
with the result that, Thursday morn¬
ing, there was no sign of the injury.
! This would seem pretty good proof
that wool is a sure cure for scalds.
