The theme will be “Outrigger Island." A celebration service will be held Sunday, July 20, at 6 p.m. The writer of Lifeway Vacation Bible School music, Jeff Slaughter, will be the guest. Berea Baptist VBS Days Set For June Berea Baptist Church will hold Vacation Bible School Sunday through Thursday, June 22 - 26, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. nightly. The theme is “God’s Big Backyard.” Classes will be available for ages 3 through the teens. The Bible school will be held at the Berea Community Center, located on Highway 335 below Commerce. St. Catherine To Offer Bus Trip St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Mission, Commerce, will offer to take parishioners and friends on a bus to the 2008 Eucharistic Congress held at the Georgia International Convention Center. This is an annual worship and teaching event sponsored by the Archdiocese of Atlanta. The event is free and offers sessions in English, Spanish, Vietnamese and sign language as well as for kids and teens. VBS Set At Little Country For June The Little Country Church, Commerce, will host Vacation Bible School Monday through Friday, June 23 - 27, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. nightly. Band Seeking Singers/Players Commerce First United Methodist Church praise and worship band is seeking addi tional singers and musical instru ment players including a drum mer. The band is in the forma tion stages but performs at the church’s 9 a.m. Sunday worship service. Plans are also underway for the band to support a new Sunday evening youth oriented service as well as a youth event called “Focus on Jesus 2008." Revival To Be Held June 18 - 20 New Faith and Arendall Methodist Church, Commerce, will host its annual revival Wednesday through Friday, June 18 - 20, at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Preschool Has Some Spaces Left Commerce First Methodist Church preschool has limited spaces for two, three and four year old half-day classes for the 2008-09 school year. Classes will be from 7:45 a.m. to 12 noon. Students will learn using the A beka curriculum, the chapel, computers, music and movement classes and more. The cost varies from $120 - $160 a month. Riverside Baptist Revival Planned Riverside Baptist Church, locat ed on Hwy. 82 Spur in Maysville, will be holding revival June 21- 27. 'Renewal' Held June 6 At Homer UMC Was A Hit Homer United Methodist Church had over 50 area teens and young adults attend the first community-wide “Renewal" Friday, June 6. The teens and young adults attending were from Community Chapel, Jefferson; Nails Creek Baptist, Homer; Glory Baptist, Homer; Homer Presbyterian and Homer United Methodist Church. “Stains of Scarlet," an up and coming Christian group from Clayton who will release their first CD this August, performed music. Jeff Bagwell was the guest speaker. A fall “Renewal" is in the plan ning stages. The church is located at the corner of Sycamore and Church streets.
