V. Brady, 71, died Monday,
February 2, 2009, at Northeast
Georgia Medical Center in
Gainesville, following an
extended illness.
A lifelong resident of
Lumpkin County, she was bom
on April 19, 1937, the daugh
ter of the late Leila Martin
and Grover Riddle. She was a
member of Oak Grove Baptist
Church in Lumpkin County.
Mrs. Brady was preceded in
death by her husband, Lucius
Brady; a sister, Ethel Riddle
Mincey; brothers, Willard R.
Riddle, Lloyd Riddle, L.G.
Riddle and Hughes Riddle;
daughter, Marcia Cape Davis
Fletcher; and a son, Anthony
Scott Cape.
Survivors include sons,
Randy Cape, Talladega, Ala.,
and Alan Cape, Dahlonega;
daughter, Denise Cape Bangs
Brunner, Dahlonega; and step
son, Mike Brady, Sterrett, Ala.;

Thursday, February 5, at 2
p.m., in the chapel of Banister
Funeral Home in Dahlonega
with the Revs. Allen Swafford,
Terry Fields and Russell Burt
officiating. Burial will be in
Dahlonega Memorial Park.

Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m.

“Red” Casper, 73, died
Wednesday, January 28, 2009.
Born in Barrow County, he
was the son of the late James
Truman and Cora Maudeen
Jackson Casper. He was the
manager of the Magnolia
Station in Athens for a num
ber of years. Mr. Casper was
preceded in death by his wife,
Johnnie Davis Rice Casper.
Survivors include daughters,

sons, Mark Rice, Jeff Rice
and Grayson Casper, all of
Danielsville; sister, Ann Finch,

tler, Psycho Man, with the
Future Wrestling Federation,
a coach for the Auburn Dixie
Youth Baseball and was of the
Christian faith.

“Jake” Thomas Conwell, 82,

2009, at the Elbert County
Memorial Hospital.
A native of Madison County,
he was the son of the late Alvin
and Ruby Mae Lord Conwell.
He was a mem
ber and deacon
of Doves Creek
Baptist Church,
a United States
Army veteran serving in World
War II, and owner and opera
tor of Jake’s Custom Crafts.
Mr. Conwell was preceded
in death by a brother, Dallas
Conwell; and sister, Ollie Mae
Poss.
Survivors include his wife,

She was a 65-year member

Myron Gilliland
BUFORD - Myron E.
Gilliland, 86, died Wednesday,
January 28, 2009.
Born on March 3, 1922,
he was the son of the late
Lake and Minnie Gilliland
of Jackson County. He mar
ried Latrelle Thurmond on
February 10, 1945, and moved
to the Buford area, where he
lived the remainder of his life.
He was a member of Pleasant
Hill Baptist Church in Buford,
a former Sunday school teach
er and Sunday school super
intendent. Mr. Gilliland was
preceded in death by a brother,
Paul Gilliland, Buford; sister,
Myrtie Jones, Gainesville; and
son-in-law, Robert Brown,
Buford.
As one of the last living
workers of the Bona Allen
“harness shop”, his name is
engraved on a statue of Roy
Rogers, Trigger and Jack
Johnson, located in historic
Buford, commemorating the
saddle made for Trigger by
the Bona Allen Company in
the late 1940s. He then went
to work for General Motors at
the Doraville assembly plant,
where he was a member of
UAW Local 10, and retired
in 1980, after 32 years of ser
vice.
Survivors include his wife
of nearly 64 years, Latrelle
Thurmond Gilliland, Buford;
daughters and sons-in-law,
Joan Brown, Flowery Branch,
Martha Jo and Ronald Martin,
Canon, Judy and Jerry Parks,
Buford; sons and daughters-in-
law, Ricky and Janice Gilliland
and Ronny and Joan Gilliland,
all of Buford; sisters, Nell
Heard and Ola Adams, both
of Buford; 14 grandchildren;
15 great-grandchildren; and a
host of nieces, nephews and
cousins.

in Buford. Burial was in the

was a Vietnam Veteran, and
worked for Wal-Mart as a cart
attendant and people greeter
for seven years
at the Sugarloaf
and Snellville
stores. He
loved fishing and collecting
cars, coins, coke and Georgia
bulldogs memorabilia, and his
grandchildren were his life,
loved ones stated. Mr. Love
was preceded in death by a
brother, David Love.

children, Angel and Shawn

and was preceded in death by
