Waters, Dyer to
marry April 11
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Waters of Millen announce the forthcoming
marriage of their daughter. Heather Corlene Waters of Blairsville
to Craig Garland Dyer, son of Shirley Dyer and Mr. and Mrs.
Quinton Dyer, all of Blairsville. The bride-elect is also the daugh
ter of the late Joyce Bennett Waters of Perkins.
The wedding will be an event of April 11 in Las Vegas, Ne
vada.
Miss Waters is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Waters
of Perkins and the late Mildred R. Jenkins of Millen.
She is a 1996 graduate of Jenkins County High School, a 1998
graduate of Ogeechee Technical College and is certified as a Pa
tient Care Technician. She plans to pursue a nursing degree in
the fall.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Reida Stephens and the
late Mack Stephens and Lois Dyer and the late Clarence Dyer,
all of Blairsville.
Mr. Dyer is a 1991 graduate of Union County High School, a
1993 Phi Theta Kappa graduate of Young Harris College and a
1996 graduate of the University of the Georgia College of Phar
macy. He is a registered pharmacist in Georgia and North Caro
lina and is currently employed with Kerr Drug in Hayesville,
N.C.
The couple will reside in Blairsville.

RULES AND REGISTRATION
1. All meat must be cooked on the day of the contest, April 4th.
2. Only two categories will be judged, (pork and sausage)
3. Meat may be marinated and/or basted only on the
day of the contest.
4. No sauce or garnishes allowed after cooking.
5. Pick up containers forjudging from the judging area. All samples
forjudging must be at judge’s table no later than 11 am. Please
supply three separate samples.
6. Your team is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe area
around your cooker.
7. All meat cooked will be donated to the Chamber for sale to benefit
the Patriotic Celebration to be held in July.
8. Prizes will be awarded as follows: 1st place $250,2nd place $150,
and 3rd place $50. Best sausage will be awarded $50.

nounce the birth of their son, Kavin Hardeman Walker, born Jan.
26, 2009 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center. He weighed
7 lbs. 10 oz. and was 20 'A inches long.

In compliance with O.C.G.A. § 44-12-236 of The Disposition of Unclaimed Property
Act, Planters Electric Membership Corporation is attempting to locate former members
whose capital credit checks were issued in year 2003, but which have been returned by
the U. S. Post Office as “undeliverable” or have otherwise been unclaimed.
A current list of these members, with their last known addresses and instructions for
claiming these funds, is posted at any of our corporate offices located at 1740 Hwy 25
North Millen, Georgia; or 846 Buttermilk Road Sylvania, Georgia; or 231 East Sixth
Street Waynesboro, Georgia, for review Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The last possible date to claim these funds is August 31, 2009. If these funds are not
claimed by this date, they will be donated for charitable uses, as permitted by O.C.G.A. §
44-12-236.
