Miss Agnes Miller, of Chicago, speaks
to young women about dangers of the
Menstrual Period — how to avoid pain and
suffering and remove the cause by using
Lydia E* Pinkham's Vegetable Compound*
“To Young Women: — I an (Ye rorl for six years with dysmenor
rhea (painful periods), so much so that 1 dreaded every month, as I
knew jt meant three or four days of intense pain. The doctor said
this was due to an inflamed condition of the uterine appendages caused
by repeated and neglected colds.
“If young girls only realized how dangerous it is to take cold at
this critical time, much .suffering would lie spared them. Thank God
for Lydia E. f’inkhands Vegetable Compound, that was the only
medicine which helped mo any. Within three weeks after J started to
take it, I noticed a marked improvement in my general health, and at
the fimo of my next monthly jx'riod the pain had diminished consider
ably. I kept up the treatment, and was cured a month later. I am like
another person since, f am in perfect health, my eyes are brighter, I have
added la pounds to my weight, my color is good, and I feel light and
happy.” — Miss Agnes Miller, 25 Potomac Ave., Chicago, ill.
The monthly sickness reflects the condition of a woman’s
health. Anything unusual at that time should have prompt
anil proper attention. Fifty thousand letters from women prove
that Lydia E. Pinlcham’s Vegetable Compound regulates men
struation and makes those periods painless.
READ WHAT MISS LIND HECK SAYS:
“Dear Mrs, Pixkham: — Lydia E. Pink-
ham’s Vegetable,Compound has greatly bene-
lltted me. I will tell you how I suffered. My
trouble was painful menstruation. I felt as each
month went by that I was getting worse. I had
severe bearing-down pains in my hack and abdo
men.
“A friend advised me to try Mrs. Pinkham’s
medicine. I did so and am now free from all
pain during my periods.” — Jessie C. Lindbeck,
1201 0th Street, Rockford, III.

Little Damage by Frost.
Officials at the Georgia department >

material damage to the crops of Geor j

south Georgia and it is not thought
that the early corn or the cotton which !
is up was damaged. Very little corn

Negro Woman Asks for Pardon.
Application ha- been made to the
prison commission for tho pardon of
Leila Burges, a negro woman who was
sent up twenty years ago from Frank
lin county, for the murder of her fath
er. She was convicted in 18S4. and
has served 20 years of a life sentence
that was given her by the jury.
Tile woman was fourteen years old
when she was convicted. The defense
introduced evidence showing that the
girl’s father had whipped, her unmerci
fully with a large stick, and that when
her mother ’protested against it, he
turned on the motner and was about
to administer punishment on her when
lows, much interest in his fate is
aroused. Sympathetic friends will j
strive to have the death sentence com
muted to life imprisonment, and are,
circulating petitions to that effect al
ready.
Counter petitions will likewise be 1
circulated and largely signed, request- \
ing non-interference upon part of the
prison commission. One ot the latter

Crenshaw Sues for Damages.
Thomas C. Crenshaw, formerly
chairman of the state railroad commis
sion has brought an attachment sui’
I to the Atlanta city court against he
: Pullman company for $13,000 damages,
1 the litigation growing out of the sensa-

| J. H. Kirkland, a Pullman car conduc-

i ger train nt Marietta iast June, and in
1 which the former was rut with a knife,
j Mr. Crenshaw alleges that he was
! attacked by the conductor without
i provocation, and he claims that the
I Pullman company is responsible for
his conduct. The trouble, it will he re-
| membered, occurred over the alleged
i refusal of the railroad commissioner to
j exhibit his pass when requested to

Ojates that Mr. Crenshaw gave the con
ductor no cause for the assault. It, is
further stated that Crenshaw was bad-

in Marietta on tlie charge of assault
with intent to murder and was acqutt-
