Col. R. J. Bae,an, Jr., lias been in At¬
lanta for the past few days in attendance
upon the session of the Supreme court.
Mrs. Cowart of Baiubridge, with her
son, James, are visiting relatives heie
this week.
The trustees of the Baconton High
School have decided to grant only one
week of vacation during the Christmas
holidays. Perhaps this is be t as it is
more com for table to be in school on a
winter than a sunuaer day.
Baconton regrets the loss of the family
of Mrs. Ella Culbreth, who has seen fit
to make Albany tiieir future home.
Mr. W. J. Mullens and family have
moved into the hotel and are now ready
to furnish accommodations to the visit¬
ing public.
Mr. B. P. Watson, who has been at¬
tending to business in Lenwood, Fla.,
spent several days last week with his
family in Baconton.
Mr. Harry Jackson, of Thomasville,
is spending sometime with relatives and
friends in his old home here.
Mr. C. C. Batey, of Thomasville, is
visiting relatives here this week.
Mr. Joel Eyeone Dean, who has for
sometime been a frequent visitor of Ba
coiiton, came down on the (1:80 train
Tuesday p.m. On the 11 o’clock train
Wednesday a. m., Rev. Clark came. At
4:30 Wednesday p. lie, Rev. Clark be¬
fore a vast concourse of spectators and
well-wishers, pronounced Mr. Dean and
Miss Lena Rivers Jackson “man and
wife.” Eager hands are congratulating
because their friends know that they
have each chosen well. The bride is the
daughter of Mr. W. T. Jackson, of this
place, a well-known and successful busi¬
ness man, while the groom is a young
man of splendid character, and holding
a good position with the Red Cypress
Lumber Co., at Pretoria. Perhaps we
will hear later where the bride and
groom will make their home. We all
wish for Mr. and Mrs. Dean many more
happy Christmases, other than the one
just ahead.

The Dramatic Club’s Entertain¬
ment
The entertainment given at the
Auditorium on last Pr dav even¬
ing by the Camilla Dramatic Club
was a success from beginning to
finish and is worthy of reproduc¬
tion. The receipts were in the
neighborhood of fifty dohars and
will go far towards putting a
fence around the school grounds.
Taking Stock.
