Another Dim-.-The Augusta
papers of yesterday give an account
of another duel at Sand Bar Ferry,
a spot fast becoming as celebrated as
the Bladensbing and Hoboken
grounds were in past days. The
contestants on this occasion were
hoih of South Carolina—Mr. James
T. Heyward, editor of the Orange
burg Times (Democratic), and Mr.
Malcolm J. Browning, editor ot
the Orangeburg News, (Radical),
Strange to say tbe quarrel ot these
two h jtspurs came out of a dispute
about the Boston tire.
The parties met at the Sami Bat
on Monday morning with pistols,
seconds, surgeons and a number of
spectators. Two rounds were fired
without effect; the friends were then
privileged, according to the code, to
Y> v \iv2 about a settlement, but the
principals were stubborn ; the near
est they could come to this desirable
e„d was this : the two principals ad
vanced three paces, saluted without
speak'mg, and retired from the field.
Tins was done, and the affair ended.
