Akikta Club holds annual meeting
During the Akikta Club's annual garden luncheon meeting at the New Perry Hotel Saturday,
May 7 new officers were Installed and new members were Inducted into the club. The new
officers are (top photo) President Alice Phelps, Vice President Sylvia Grimes,
Parliamentarian Mable McKinley, Secretary Susan Nichols and Treasurer Nancy Brown (not
pictured. New member are (bottom photo) Gay Chambless, Linda McClellan, Sandra
Sessoms, Sally Sampson, Phyllis Thompson, Christy George, Elaine Rowell and Diane
Culpepper.

education, Perry Chiropractic Health Center. On hand from the local business were Dr. John
Majac, staff member, and Dr. Veronlque DeSaulnlers, owner of Perry Chiropractic Health
Center. This Is one of the many gifts the business has given the school during the past
year.

NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Notice is hereby given to all interested bidders that the Houston County Board of Commissioners
is accepting sealed bids for its Section 125 Flexible Benefits Program. Benefits available under
this plan include cancer and dread disease supplement, major medical supplement and
voluntary term life insurance. The County is interested in receiving responses from bidders w ho
provide the above benefits and we encourage you to consider this proposal carefully. Bids on the
above employee benefits will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. June 30, 1994
Specifications and copies of the proposed coverages may be obtained by contacting Harold
Wilson, Personnel Director, 200 Carl Vinson Parkway, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088 at (912)
542-2005. Anyone wishing to hand deliver their bid may do so. Bids mailed prior to the bid
opening should be sent to the above address.
The Houston County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids not in the best
interests of its employees.
Relay for Life calls for public support
The public is invited to partici
pate in the Relay for Life opening
ceremony and relay service which
will both be held Friday, May 20.
Sponsored by the Houston
County Chapter of the American
Cancer Society, the 24-hour relay
being held to raise money for cancer
research will begin with cancer sur
vivors walking the first lap of the
1 relay around the track at Perry High
School at 6 p.m.

A luminary service will be held
at 10 p.m. Individuals can purchase
luminaries in honor or in memory
of someone and participate in this
event.
Besides those two services, 17
teams of dedicated citizens repre
senting businesses, schools, social,
civic and religious organizations
will walk for 24 hours to raise
funds for ACS.
Each group participating in the
relay will have campsites set up and
members, as well as die public,
will enjoy a variety of entertain
ment from 8-9:45 pjn. Friday
evening.
Cancer survivors interested in
participating in the opening
ceremony or citizens interested in
participating in the luminary
