Mr. and Mrs. Donnie A. Miller,
Sr., of Hayneville, announce the
engagement of their daughter,
Susan Jeannine Miller, to Steven
Craig Bernhard, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Gustave A. Bernhard, Jr. of
Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
Susan is the granddaughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Carl E. Miller, great
granddaughter of Mrs. Ida Mae Burt
and the late Mr. and Mrs. Gray Burt
of Moultrie. She is a 1988
graduate of Macon Co. High
School in Montezuma and a 1992
graduate of Valdosta State
University. Susan is currently
employed by Onslow Memorial
Hospital in Jacksonville, N.C. as a
Northrop workers earn money for HODAC
Ms. Debra Serva and Ms. Sandra
Smith of Perry were each awarded a
SIOO check to donate to HOD AC's
Rape Crisis program.
As Northrop employees, Ms.
Serna and Ms. Smith were awarded
the checks by the Northrop
Outreach Volunteer Assistance
NOVA) program.

and the late Gustave A. Bernhard,
Sr. of Bronx, N.Y. He is a 1987
graduate of Oshkosh West High
School and is currenUy a Sergeant
in the United States Marine Corps,
stationed at New River Air Station
in Jacksonville, N.C. as an
Avionics Technician for Marine
heavy helicopter squadron.

Saturday, May 28, 1994 at 4 p.m.
in the Memorial Chapel Marine
Corps Air Station, New River,
Jacksonville, N.C.
to the organization. HODAC’s
Rape Crisis program provides free
service to victims of rape and their
families. The Rape Crisis program
has been serving the citizens of
Houston County since 1981.
Ms. Serna has been a volunteer
with HODAC’s Rape Crisis
program since January 1994 and
Ms. Smith has been a volunteer
since November 1984.

Anna Kathleen Howard was bom on
Monday, April 18, 1994 to Steve
and Bridget Howard of Perry. Her
grandparents are Jim and Colleen
Lewis of Perry and Red and Betty
Adams of Perry. Anna has an older
brother, John David, age 4.
Macy Lynn Hughes
Macy Lynn Hughes was bom on
Tuesday, April 26, 1994 to
Jacqueline and Robby Hughes of
Perry. Her grandparents are James
and Barbara Maner of Perry and
Robert and Evelyn Hughes of
Perry.

Merle Norman Cosmetics,
located at 925 Carroll Street in
Perry, is now under new ownership.
Linda A. Brambila, owner of the
studio in the Macon Mall has
acquired the Perry location. "I am
very excited about working with
our clients in Perry. Two of my
three daughters will be actively
working with me to better serve our
customers," says Mrs. Brambila.

be married
on June 19
Mr. and Mrs. Artis A. McSwain
of Perry, announce the engagement
of their daughter, Miss Arlene
Marcia McSwain, to Mr. John
Hezekiah Oldham 111 of Augusta.
He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John
Hezekiah Oldham II of Charlotte,
N.C.
Miss McSwain is a 1990
graduate of Westfield High School.
She attended Georgia Tech where
she was a member of the Alpha
Delta Pi Sorority. She will receive
a Bachelor of Science in Biology
from Georgia Tech. She is
currently a first year student in the
School of Dentistry at the Medical
College of Georgia in Augusta.
Mr. Oldham is a 1987 graduate of
Charlotte Christian School. He
graduated from Georgia Tech in
Walkers and contributors needed for Miles for Meals Walkathon
Walkers and contributors are
needed for the Miles for Meals
Walkathon sponsored by the Older
Americans Council of Middle
Georgia.
Perry's OAC will hold their
walkathon in conjunction with the
Spring Fling for Seniors to be held
at Tattnall Square Park in Macon
Friday, May 20.

noonday meals to 1,500 persons in
the Middle Georgia area, but there
is still a great need. There are 111
persons presently on their waiting
lists.
