Bedfellows 1 on Sept. 29-30, and Oct. 1, 6-8, at 8 p.m.,

fund-raising events scheduled for
this weekend.

A variety of plates will be sold
to the public on Friday, Sept. 30,
from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the
home of Cal Shankle, located at
1616 Main St.
The menu will include a family
order consisting of two chickens,
Ernie's New Orleans Style Red
Beans and Rice, gulf coast seafood
salad or potato salad, and dessert for
$lB.
Barbecue chicken plates with all
the trimmings will be available for
$4, as well as Cal's Ox Roast Beef
Sandwich or Sausage and Red Reans
for $2.50 each.
Orders arc requested to be placed
before Thursday, Sept 29. Delivery

A special afternoon at the Perry-
Houston County Airport will cap
off the two-day fundraising event,
when airplane rides will be offered
to the public.
That event is scheduled for
Sunday, Oct. 2, from 3 p.m. until
7 p.m. for a donation of $5 per
person. Hotdogs and cokes will also
be available for a generous
donation.
Rides will be available on a
first-come, first-serve, basis.
Volunteers can assist at either
fundraiser by calling Emie Pichon
or Julie Moore at 988-5761.
In the meantime, Douthit said he
will continue to rebuild his life and
only hope for a brighter future.
"I guess God's got other plans
for me," he said. "I don't know
what they are, but I will find out.
After all, I've got a lot to live for.
I'm still alive...”

Whipple named
Autumn resident
Elinor Trunnell Whipple is this
month’s “Resident of the Month” at
Autumn Terrace.
Elinor resides at Autumn
Terrace. She was reared on a farm
near Cochran, Georgia, and is a
graduate of Wesleyan Conservatory.
She was the wife of the late
Allen Whipple for almost 40
years, and has lived in Perry for the
past 38 years.
She has three children: Allen Jr.,
Lane and Laura, and seven
grandchildren.
Allen Jr. and his wife, the
former Linda Fallin, live in Macon
and have three sons: Chandlor,
Taylor and Metts.
Lane and Charles Clark are
residents of Fort Valley and have
two children: Jennni Leigh and
Buddy.
Laura and Steven Sykes live in
Cape May County Courthouse, N.
J., and have two sons: Steven and
Matthew.

Elinor Trunnell Whipple
Elinor taught Speech Therapy in
Atlanta prior to moving to Perry,
and later taught it, off and on, in
Houston County.
She is a member of the Tawasi
Club, the Perry United Methodist
Church, the I. H. S. Sunday
School class, and the Houston
County Mental Health Association.
All of her life, Elinor has been
very interested in her family and
in Mental Health. She is very
active and involved in these
pursuits, and in her life in Perry and
at Autumn Terrace.
