NOTICE OF PUBLIC INFORMATION
MEETING
PROJECTS GIP-341 (22) & BHF-002-
3(6)
P. I. NOS 362716 & 321760
HOUSTON-PULASKI COUNTIES
On Thursday, October 6, 1994, the
Georgia Department of Transportation will
hold a public information meeting
concerning the proposed location and
design of Projects GIP-341 (22), Houston-
Pulaski Counties and BHF-002-3 (6) Pulaski
County. The meeting will be held from 4 to
7 p.m. at the Community Service Center
located on Lumpkin Street in Hawkinsville,
Georgia.
The proposed projects consist of the
widening and reconstruction of SR 11/US
341 from just south of Haynesville and
extend 10.4 miles southeast along SR 11/
US 341 to the existing four-lane section in
Hawkinsville and include widening the
bridge over Buck Creek. The proposed
roadway is to widen and reconstruct the
existing two-land roadway to a four-lane
roadway with a 44-wide depressed median
with six-foot shoulders (two-foot paved)
inside and 10-foot shoulders (four-foot
paved) outside with ditches left and right
from just south of Haynesville to the
intersection of CRIO3 (Eddie Harrell Road)
just north of Hawkinsville. From the CR 103
intersection to the SR 11/US 341 North and
SR 11 Spur/US 341 South intersection, the
proposed roadway would be a four-lane
section with a 20-foot wide raised median
with 10-foot shoulders (four-foot paved)
and ditches left and right. SR 11 Spur/US
341 is proosed to be a four lane section with
a 14-foot wide flush median from the
intersection to the existing four-lane section
in Hawkinsville. The widening will tie in to
project GIP 341 (21) Houston which is
presently under construction, shifting to
the right just north of CR 95/Klondike Road.
The proposed widening shifts to the left
from Klondike Road for approximately one
mile, shifting back to the right to near CR
103/Eddie Harrell Road. From this point
the proposed widening is symmetrical,
shifting to the left from north of SR 247/US
129 to near CR 137/East Street, then shifting
to the center to the end of the project.
Median crossovers are proposed at all
county roads and state routes except CR
134/Fairveiw Lane and CR/137/Boeing
Street in Puiaski County.
Representatives from the Department
of Transportation will be available from 4 to
7 p.m. with plans and displays. The public
will have an opportunity to attend the
meeting anytime during these hours to ask
questions and discuss the project with a
Department representative. Relocaton
assistance will be discussed atthe meeting.
A court reporter will be available during this
time to allow the public an opportunity to
make comments about the project. These
comments will be included in the transcript
of the meeting.
Written statements may be submitted
to: David E. Studstill, P.E., State
Environmental/Location Engineer, 3993
Aviation Circle, Atlanta, Georgia 30336-
1593.
Written statements should be sent by
October 17,1994. The displays used at the
public information meeting will be available
