Beauty queens visit Ga. capitol
The State Miss Georgia Peach
Queens were recently invited to tour
the Georgia state capitoi.
While there, they toured the
Capitol Museum and the
Legislative Chambers. They also
met with Lt. Gov. Pierre Howard
and presented him with fresh
peaches from Lane Packing
Company in Fort Valley.

Lanes celebrte 61st anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Mose Lane Sr.
celebrated their 61 si anniversary
Aug. 20, 1994.
The Lanes were both bom in
Houston County. For the last 67
years, they have made dieir home in
Grovina.
The Lanes have six children:
John A. Lane, Marie Kendrick,
Doyle L. Lane, Theodore Lane,
Louise Walker and Mose A. Lane

“World of Coca-Cola," ending the
day with a meal at Underground
Atlanta.
Heather Wilder and Nicole Goss
also attended the Sunbelt Expo in
Moultrie and were filmed by CNN
News. They were also introduced by
Miss Georgia during her perfor
mance at the Sunbelt Expo.

anniversary, the Lanes also cele
brated their birthdays. Mose Lane
Sr. celebrated his 81st birthday on
Aug. 10, 1994, and Annie Lane
celebrated her 83rd birthday on July

Heath, Wilson wed in ceremony
at chapel on St. Simons Island
Stacy Lynn Heath of Brunswick
and Daniel Alan Wilson of Perry
were married on Saturday, March
19, 1994 in the Lovely Lane
Chapel Epworth By The Sea on St.
Simons Island at 1:30 p.m.
Stacy is the daughter of Harold
and Johnnie Heath of Brunswick.
Daniel is the son of Joe and Betty
Howell of Perry.
The Rev. Jake Anderson
officiated. Wedding music was
provided by Kerri Hutchinson,
vocalist and Barry Randolh, pianist.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore a gown of white
bridal satin. The fitted bodice was
embellished with lace medallions
embroidered with pearls and sequins
and featured an illusion yoke ending
in a jeweled wedding band neckline
and Gibson sleeves. A matching
lace motif was featured on the skirt
that cascaded into a semi-cathedral
train. Her bridal veil was a wreath
of pearls, sequins and lace flowers

and baby’s breath with ivy and
pearls, the roses were pink, fresh
flowers.
Bridesmaids were: Kristy Heath,
sister of the bride, Angie Freemen,
Jennifer Hobbs and Michelle
Hanover.
Best Man was Scott Stafford.
Ushers were: Michael Heath and
Travis Howell. Groomsmen were:
Jeff Wilson, Billy Garrett, Chris
Hall and Michael Griger.
A reception was held at the
Jenks Garden Room at Epworth
hosted by the bride's parents.
Servers were: Cindy Griger, Gayle
Tscherch and Tambi Durek.
The couple enjoyed a wedding
trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica. They
now reside in Perry.
A rehearsal dinner was held at
Blanches Courtyard on St. Simons
Island hosted by the groom’s
parents.

Laura Seeley, noted
author/illustrator, visited
Morningside Elementary School
Tuesday, Oct. 18, visiting different
classes throughout the day.
During her visit to the school,
students learned to draw a few
illustrations.
As a child, Seeley began drawing
and was encouraged to write and
illustrate children’s books, which
she began doing at age 9. A native
of Andover, Mass., she moved to
Atlanta in 1980.
Seeley received a bachelor’s
degree in communication from the
Rochester (N.Y.) Institute of
Technology.
She worked in Atlanta as a free

her own Book of Shadowboxes and
The Magical Moonballs.
For the latter two books she was
named Georgia Author of the Year
in 1991 and 1993 by the Georgia
Council of Authors and Journalists.
Her most recent book is McSpots’
Hidden Spots.
Seeley tries to create the same
excitement in her books as those
she remembers from her childhood.
Her stories, in humorous
rhymes, have been compared to
those of Dr. Seuss.
