Sue Fleming gets
banking degree
Sue R. Fleming, Operations
Officer with the Bank of Perry, has
graduated from the 1994 Southern
Audit & Operations School. The
two-year school is produced and
managed by the Georgia Bankers
Association in cooperation with the
Alabama, Louisiana and Tennessee
Bankers Associations, and is held at
the Center for Continuing
Education on the University of
Georgia (UGA) campus in Athens.
The curriculum of the school is
designed to provide bankers with a
deeper understanding of bank
auditing and operations. The
school provides a well-balanced
curriculum utilizing experienced
bankers and other well-qualified
industry experts.
During the two, one-week

Perry has been elected president of
the Middle Georgia Group of
Financial Women International.
She will serve from Sept., 1994 to
Aug., 1995.
Other officers elected from Perry

Local Kmart store offers flu shots
The Perry, Ga. Kmart store
located at 1355 Sam Nunn Blvd.
has announced flu vaccinations will
be offered at the store on November
2 from 9 until 1. Nurses PRN will
administer the flu shots.
Customers will be charged a
nominal fee of $lO for the
vaccination. For every flu shot
administered, a portion of the
proceeds will be donated to the
American Lung Association to
support lung disease research and
clean air initiatives.

Perry High School will be
continuing its fine one-act tradition
by presenting “An Evening of One
Acts” on Saturday, Oct. 29, and
Thursday, Nov. 10.
The three plays that will be
performed include the Competition
Piece by John S. Wells, The Final
Dress Rehearsal by Jack brakes,
and The Great Melodrama by
Florence Huntington Morris.
The Competition Piece is a
comedy involving three high school
groups, each preparing a one-act

sold at the door beginning at 6:30
p.m. on the night of the
performance at the Perry High
School auditorium.

'Red Ribbon Week 1 marked
by Tucker School students
Tucker Elementary School has
drug-free activities planned for each
day during “Red Ribbon Week”,
Oct. 24-28.
On Monday, Oct. 24, students
wore red ribbons that read “Working
Toward a Drug Free Community."
The ribbons were purchased by
Crossroads Bank, Partner in
Education.
Tuesday was "Pledge Day."
"McGruff the Crime Dog" and the
student body met around the flag
pole to observe a moment of
silence, recite the Pledge of
Allegiance to the Flag, repeat the
Drug Free Pledge, and sing the
Drug Free Song.
Wednesday is "Drug Free Day
in the Classroom." Each
homeroom teacher will implement
special projects involving all
students in prevention activities.
On Thursday, all grades will
assemble on the playground at 2
p.m. for the "Red Ribbon Rally,"
which will feature an egg drop.
Classes with unbroken eggs after
the drop will be declared “Good
Eggs."
Students will then be treated to
red, white and blue “Super Star”
ice cream, compliments of Perry
Chiropractic Health Center, a
Partner in Education.
