Funding for the newspaper project came from donations and grants. The estate of Alice L. Gilbert (former Perry Librarian) and a grant from Flint Energies Foundation funded the digitization of the newspaper along with permissions granted by the Houston Home Journal.

Elementary School will imperson
ate elves this year for Christmas.
Mormngside Elementary will
hold Ute play at the Perry High
School Auditorium Dec 14. at 7
p m Perry Elementary will hold
their play at the same place on
Dec 17 at 7 p.m.
The play has a 1950-1960's
theme and is about 25 minutes long
The mam character is named “Elfis"
and he is a rock and roll elf. The
play has a cast of about 70 students
per school The crew is made up of
about 100 students Kindergartners
through second graders will he par
ticipating m the play
The play is about accepting
people for their differences. The
reason I choose this musical is for
the message behind it" said Toni
Henson, music teacher at both
schools. "That is a valuable lesson
tor adults and children."
There are five songs the stu
dents will sing The music is sup
plied via stereo

penin" said Henson "It will
speak to the hearts of adults and
children alike "

weekend ot Dec 5-6. offering holiday
refreshments along with an opportu
nity for browsing and socializing.
