That was their way of
gearing up for the June 22
gig they’ll be playing at the
baseball field of Perry High
School for BRAG, Bicycle
Ride Across Georgia.
That’s when we’ll all get
to hear Bill O’Neal sing,
Kurt Woods play drums.
Shea Smith on lead guitar,
David Bullard on acoustic
guitar and A 1 Magalano on
base guitar. 7:30 p.m. to
9:30 p.m. Free.
Jettison Blue will also be
entertaining for some wed
ding receptions this sum
mer.

Reba Floyd of Fitzgerald,
my longtime friend and the
mother of Jim Floyd,
recently made the move to
Autumn Terrace to be near
Jim and Jean.
Jim's older sister, Jane,
and 1 were sophomore
roommates at GSCW in
Milledgeville and remained
best of friends until her
death to cancer. Janie and
her husband John
McDonald with Prentice-
Hall lived in several cities
and 1 enjoyed visits by
Delta with them in Miami.

held Alumni Weekend April
23-24 at Georgia College

That’s quite a fete for
Ketus who only turned 70
last July. Yes. she graduat
ed from Baxley High School
at 16 when there was no
twelfth grade and from
GSCW at 20.
She and her roommate,
Mary McDougald. came to
Perry to teach, following
their Milledgeville minister,
the Rev. James Teresi, who
had become pastor at Perry
Baptist Church.
It didn’t take Julian
Cawthon long to win her
heart and the rest is histo
ly. Ketus and her former
suitemate, Anne Kinnett of
Fort Valley, made the mem
orable weekend trip togeth
er.

New members Connie Kennedy, Kay Grier. Connie
Long and Pat Johnson were initiated and welcomed to
the chapter.
The Founder's Day program was presented by
Patricia Bassett. She highlighted the personal, profes
sional and chapter lives of several long-time members
from each county.
Delta Kappa Gamma is an international society of
women educators, the Alpha Lambda Chapter
includes members from Crawford. Macon, Peach,
Houston and Taylor counties.
