The Xiouisiana Muddle.
To enable our readers to understand
the political muddle in Louisiana we
will distinctly state the situation.
Under the Louisiana law the election
returns are canvassed by a board of su
pervisors. The old board was appoin
ted under the au.species of the Federal
Custom-House ring, headed by Casey,
Grant’s brother-in-law. Under a new
itr.v Warmouth, the Governor, was au
thorized to appoint a new board* He
did so.
The Governor’s election lay between
McEuery, the Liberal candidate, and
Senator Kellogg, the Radical candi
date. Warmoth’s new board canvassed
tbe returns and reported McEnery elec
ted, and thereupon Wsrmoth isued
his proclamation announcing McEnery
as the new Governor.
Kellogg, the defeated Radical, ap
plied to Judge Durrell of the Federal
Court, tor an.order reinstating the cus
tom house board of election canvassers,
and enjoyning Governor Warmotb from
recognizing the new board.
It thus appears that the interference
of the United States Court was sought
to decide a State matter against the
State authorities. Though JudgeDur-
reil did not claim the State law author
ing the new jboard to be unconstitu
tional, he, in the interest of the Rad
ical faction, ursurped the jurisdiction
of the case and granted the order re
straining Governor Warmouth and the
the new board from acting, and arbitra-
riiy reinstating the old board.
There are thus two boards. Each
board lias acted and reported separate
tul conflicting tesults. The Wanuoth

-. Jrh.it S i- U—Dear Sir: Many thanks to you
<■ i’» i-.edii iue you have so kindly given me. I have
’ n a gleet sufferer for years, an l had the advice of
-t r'ous phy.-icians. .S .nieptonouuceduiy spine,some
my lungs, r.nd some my heart to be the seat of my dis-
•■*. 0. I have been burnt, blistered and capped until
£’ ad become disheartened. Several very eminent
physicians who examined my Bpine informed me that
L whs threatened with paralysis or appoplexy any day
and that nothiug but a seton would relieve ine. I had
a perfect horror of that, and was hesitating about
having one inserted, when you kindly sent me your
Sarsaparilla which I immediately begun to take three
ti.uos a day. I bad suff.red terr.bly with a most
acute pain in tbe tight side of my Lend, especially
when 1 would road or write for any length of time, aud
on rising to niy feet I would bo perfectly blind for
several minu'es, and would havo to hold to something
to prevent falling.
I am most happy to inform you that the pain in my
head ia entirely relieved; I suffer but Seldom with my
spine and then not so acutely. My appetite is good i
indeed for the first time in my lite I enjoy my dinner
more than any meal during the day.
You kindly sent me four bottles again last night,
and I began again this morning, and I hope to be en
tirely relieved- Please accept my heartfelt thanks and
best wishes.
Very truly your most grateful friend,
. M. 13. C. Ritirs.
My journal abounds with similar letters, all of
which I guarantee to be genuine aud written by tbs
persons wh*s« names they bear.
Do not suffer yourself to be imposed on. Don’t b*
draw* away after new and doubtful experiments.
Don’t risk your health by letting novices experiment
upon you with their trash. My Sarsaparilla has stood
the test for twenty-fiv* years; it is still the Sarsaparilla
of the day, and of the age, towering over all others ia
popularity and its curative qualities. Avoid all those
who are trying to palm off on you other extract* of
Sarsaparilla, so-called. Remember it ia Dr. John
Bull’s Sarsaparilla, of Louisville, Ky., that isth* old
and reliable remedy lor impurities of the blood and
scrofulous affections. Always bear that in mind.
Another Testimony.

Dr. John Bull—Dear Sir: Knowing the efficacy
of your Sarsaparilla, and the healing aud beneficial
qualities it possesses, I send you the following state
ment of my case:
1 was wounded about two years ago, was taken
prisoner and confined for sixteen months. Being
moved to often, mv wounds have not healed yet. I
have not set up a moment since I was wounded. I
am shot through the hips. My general health is im
paired, and I need something tc assist nature; I have
more faith in your Saraaparilin than anything else. I
wish that which is genuine. Please express tne half *
dozen bottles, and oblige.

cept our thanks for a complimentary
ticket to the annual exhibition of the
Agricultural and Mechanical Associa
tion of Georgia to be held at the Fair
ground near Savannah during the week
commencing on Monday, December
30th, 1872. This will probably be tbe
most interesting of all tbe agricultural
fairs that have been held in tbe State
this year. Our Savannah friends know
how to manage such things so as to
make them pleasant Atlanta can do
the wind work so a? to make them
profitable to Atlanta, but it takes Sa

tbe exhibition will be a grand one.
