arresting nnd preventing decay in teeth
keeping the teeth and gums iu a healthy and clean

tar. and relieving pain caused by carious teeth.
Few discoveries in modern chemistry promise
more important results thnn (hat ofKronsote, hy
l)r. lteicnenhnch, an eminent chemist of Blaus,
ko, in Monrovia. It is n highly rectified liquid
* product, obtained from wood, and isnualngous to

powerful ns a corrective nnd preventive of de
cay. Charcoal, notwithstanding its well known
cleansing properties, is objectionable ns n denti

of minute particles remaining between the teeth
and producing injury. Ivrcosote, on tho contra
ry. cannot be liable to this objection, and posses

ptilifting pinpeities of ihe former. The trials
which have been made with it, in this country

It is strongly recomuiendpd by tho Faculty ns
the best preventive against caries in teeth. To
sweeten the breath, rendered offensive hy decay

to arrest decay itself, it stands pre-eminent.
HU Li's compound Kreosote Tooth Wash, com
bines the virtues of Kreosote, of the strength

It is confidently recommended to the pnhlicas

with great advantage to the teeth nnd gums, at the
Kune time leaving an agreeable sensation ill tho

For Jnnndice. Indigestion. Weak Stomach, Arc.
T HESE BitlerHnro composed of vegetables
of the most innocent, yet specific virtues,
nnd have been highly extolled by thousands who
have experienced thciretficacy in the above nam
ed complaints. They are in fact tho best sto
machic and corrective the vegetable kingdom fur
nishes. They aro highly useful as n preventive
ugaiust fever, and are very serviceable nt all sea
sons oftlie yenr, tuorb particularly in tho spring
and snuimer months, when persons of bilious
(mbits experience that total loss of nppetile, dise
greeahlo listlcssnessand relaxation of the system.
They strengthen tlie stomach, procure n good ap
petite, promote digestion, purify the blood, und
restore the Invalid to his original strength and
vigor. Most ofthe Bittern with which the mar
ket is now supplied aro nothing more than cheap
groggy preparations, sold nt n high price, nud
bought mainly for their intoxicating properties.
These Bitters are superior to any that nro, or
ever huvu been offered to the public. Being
puugetilly aromatic, they are particularly recom
mended to seafaring persons as nil antidote a-
gainst the Scurvy. Persons laboring under the
infirmities of old age, will find these Bitters to
prove a wholesome, agreeable and invigorating
stomachic cordial, increasing the appetite nnd as
sisting digestion in a remarkable degreo, removing
those low spirited nnd trembling sensations, tho

DownntPi Tonic Mixture, or
Vegetable Febrifuge,
A specific nnd lasting euro for Fever and Ague,
T il 18 worthy remedy earnestly repels die si u r
of being nipiack medicine, it having been
the result of many years study, experience nnd
labor, iu th* medical practice mid observation of
Fever nnd Ague. It is composed of such modi-
ciual principles ns were considered most fit to re
store the harmony ofnetion between tlie stomach,
liver, and the other important functions of the
system, the loss of which harmony is evidently the
immediate cause of the disease. It speedily.’prn-
moles n regular and healthy uppetite which is
generally entirely destroyed «r rendered very
precarious; by which effect, vigor nnd strength is
soon afforded to the whole system. It must be
apparent to all. that a medicine possessing these
peculiar virtues, is useful in n great variety of
complaints. By renewing tlie healthy action of
the digestive organs, it has proved itself of re-
mnrkahle benefit in dyspepsia, depraved appetite,
heart-burn, water brush, flatulency, jaundice,
night sweats, dysentery, bowel complaints, and
all other affections of similur origin, but it is in
the treatment of Fevers, and especially in Fever
and Ague, or Remittent Fever, that i|s powers
have been principally tested, and with those who
havo seen its useftilness, it Is pronounced sover
eign to all remedies heretofore discovered fo
those diseases. It has also been used as a pro
vcntivH, by many who were subject to a periodi
cal recurrence of the chills nnd fever, and il has
always warded off tho apprehended attack. It
was deemed not improper to accompany the
vegetable febrifuge with a few of tho many une
quivocal certificates politely ftirnished to tlio pro
prietor,corroborative ofthe foregoing statements.
