On Thursday last, we had the
pleasure of seeing the “Buck Eye
Reaper and Mower” in operation, and
are free to confess that it fully comes
up to all that the Manufacturers
claim for it. Mr. Gilbert, of this place,
who is the agent for the sale this num
ber one machiue, and who solicited
cur presence on the above named day
to witness the reaping of Mr. Nelson
Gilreath’s wheat, assures Us, that with
a pair of good mules, the “Buckeye”
will reep from 12 to fifteen acres of
wheat perday, and we have every reason
to believe the statement, from the fact
that Mr. Gilbert is a gentleman of un
doubted veracity. Asa general thing,
our confidence in regard to these new
fangled agricultural implements which
are being bought daily, and with which
the South, especially, is being flooded
at this time, is very limited, and some
no doubt, would consider us radically
“old-fogy ish” in consequence, end
remind us of the important fact that
the present is an age of “progression,”
and that we are far in the rear; this
may all be true, and we will not try to
refute the charge, but we do think
that we are always ready to surrender
when convinced; we have been con
vinced fully of the utility of the “Buck
eye,” and therefore recommend it to
the farmers of this country, as the best
machine of the kind in use. It cuts
clean, does not knock down the wheat,
and cuts as much in one day as a
good cradler can in three, as many
gentlemen who have seen it in opera
tion will testify. These Machines are
manufactured by C A nit man & Cos.,
Canton, Ohio, and are for sale by W.
H. Gilbert & Cos., of this place. It

same ratio that it does wheat.

which is attracting go much attention

THIRTY YEARS
Have elapsed since the introduction of the
Pain Killer to the public, and yet at the
present time it is more popular and com

popularity is not confined to this country
alone; all over the world its beneficial -{reefs
in curing tiie “ills that flesh is heir to,”
arc acknowledged and appreciated, and as a
Pain Killer its fame is limited to no coun

Thirty years is ce.-taiuly along enough time

that the Pain Killer is deserving of all its
proprietors claim for it, is amply proved by
the unparalleled popularity it has attained.

all cases of dyspepsia the liver is more or

gland, as well as upon the stomach and bow

ness, regulating and reinvigoraiing every
secretive and assimilating organ on which
bodily and mental health depend.
