“The Spinster’* Convention” at the
Bowen Opera House to-night, for
the benefit of the new Episcopal
Chapel. After the convention ad
journs, the May-Pole Drill, by twelve
young ladies, will he given on the
stage, The Tifton Mandolin Club
will furnish the music for the occa
sion, and the occasion will be one of
the moet enjoyable ever presented
in Tifton.
Doors will open at seven, and the
Spinsteis will be seen on their way to
the Convention promptly at 8:15.

HU friends in Tifton will learn
with deep regret of the death of the
wife of Mr, S. A. Hughes, of Pitts-
. hnrg, Pa, Feb. 11th. Mr. Hughes
had been spending eonio time in
Georgia, and was summoned home
by a telegram announcing his wife’s

terest in the firm of Briggs Carson &
Co., of Tifton, to Mr. Carson, who
will oontinue the business under the
firm name of Briggs C'arson.
In return, Mr. Price has purchased
the iuaurance business of Briggs Car-
son & Co. with headquarters at Me-
llac, and will continue it under the
firm name of Jas. II. Price, making
MoBao his home.

in this section, and have a large and
growing business.
Mr. Price will be greatly missed
from Tif-on society, snd all here wish
