The special delivery letter service
Mr. DeGraw points out is a source of
profit to the government.
It is suggested, however, that the
special delivery service can be made
more profitable by the authorized use
of ordinary stamps covering the fee
for special delivery.
Concerning the rural delivery ser
vice, the report says that on June 80
there were in operation 32,055 routes.
It is estimated that service will be
installed during the current fiscal
year on 6,119 routes. To maintain
this service for the ensuing fiscal year
will require $26,989,628.

LUCAS GREEN NOT GUILTY
Jury at Brunswick Against Defendant
on Murder Charge.
Brunswick, Ga., Dec. 19—Lucas
Green, charged with the murder of
Isaac Smith last May, was today ad
judged not guilty. When the court

to Baxley, his home, to spend Sun

no one witnessed the shooting. Smith
fell mortally wounded and Green
Reived two wounds which were not
